Momo, a tale about the time

15 Dec Momo, a tale about the time

I still remember when I chose my town library the story of MomoI thought it was the best choice among all. Despite being too young to understand all the concepts that was, as it would have approximately 11 years of more elaborate form (in my time at that age than normal was being trying to catch any stray cat for experiments), I have a good memory of the book of Momo and after his recent re-reading I decided to launch this blog entry.

Despite being written in 1973, a good traveller in time should appreciate some details of this work that discusses how the time is used by the humans of modern societies. Momo is a novel written by Michael Endethe same of The neverending story.

The main idea of Momo see how the hidden interests of people influence people and criticizes the rational model of conceiving time (from the perspective of 1973, clear), an economic model that distorts the moments and experiences that have no material value and that are, in essence, that give value to life.

Evidently, Yes Michael Ende He had written the novel from modern times, sure that would have given him greater power to the grey men (thieves of time).

Attentive to that comes a slight Spoiler of Momo

The grey men they are a 'people' (in the book is given to understand that they aren't really anything, they only have human form) that try and get, do humans to save time for them save it. However, in reality while humans save is time wasted, since grey men steal it and live it, given that, so to speak, they are crazy about the time and need anyone who can. Their enemies are the children, who do not understand the time or business, and in particular Momowhich makes losing time to humans, since listening to their problems (and that can take a long time). A grey man tries to dissuade her with a complete doll, with models, friends, family and boyfriends. However, Momo You may not hear it and replica you doll may not love him. It is then when the man tells his true purpose with your true voice. It is then when the grey men they decide to get rid of it.

The grey mento survive, stealing time flowers (representing at the time), freeze them with its cold, start them with petals and smoke them, making it only downtime, which live. In fact, if by mistake or intentionally, the cigarette lost contact with his mouth, they dissolve into nothingness.

Despite seem a little abstract, this pretty good, critical background that is missing the time dedicated to love the people, the experience of the moments, without much Whatsapp or Facebook that distract from take advantage of longer present otherwise.

Fundamental values with fantastic touches, that my have personally brought me fond memories.
